The storyline now is that a father and son were taken hostage by 2 gunmen on Wednesday night. The father, Earl Hamilton, and one gunman went in the silver Jag up town to get money from a bank. The kidnap victim saw a cop outside Starbucks and alerted the cop that he was being kidnapped. Hamilton bailed out of the Jag and the officer shot at the Jag. The bad guy, Kevin Brooks, took off and holed up in the Pink House. Meanwhile, the other gunman, Brian Jones, stayed at the house with the 11 year old boy. The rest is history as they say.
But, here are my questions. Why was this man targeted? Did the gunmen know him? I don't think they were desperate crackheads as it is reported they had automatic weapons. That sounds pretty serious. I don't believe for a second this was a random act. If someone was to look around my neighborhood (OK that's just ridiculous, 35th and Montgomery! but we're being hypothetical here) would a person decide to enter my house arbitrarily and take me hostage? My neighbors who are college students? The neighbors across the street at the rooming house? What would they expect to get? I feel there is still more to this story we are not being told.

Found out that the victim, Earl Hamilton, has a criminal record of his own...
ReplyDeleteI am curious. How does the victim make a living? Has a Jag. $5,000 in the bank. That's a lot of money to me just to go get out of the bank and not think twice about it.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely sounds as if these men knew the victim And had knowledge that he had access to money. But to risk all that just for measly few grand??? Sounds strange. I believe the authorities are withholding valuable info that the public has a right to know, to prevent us from being victims.THis is a classic example of thank God there was a citizen who is speaking out. Informing others to keep the regular Joe or Jane s informed.
