February 27 2011
Here we are at 35th and Montgomery. The sign across the street says "No Drugs No Loitering." That is why I named my Blog No Drugs No Loitering. This picture was taken on Sunday Feb 27, 2011. To understand the problem I have with Sunday alcohol sales, you will need to follow this blog. Six days a week, people come from all around to sit on the porch of the rooming house and the screened room to the side of Dirty South Records. The only respite we have is Sunday. Monday through Saturday they sit and drink, sell drugs and use drugs. After hours of drinking, where do you think they "go to the bathroom"? They do not go in the rooming house, nor do they go inside Dirty South Records. The "bathroom" is the space between the white/blue house and the beige building (Dirty South Records) Sometimes, they walk across the street to urinate behind David's Crabs. Men have urinated on the containers that hold the crabs that being sold at David's Crabs! I have also seen a woman urinate behind the dumpster at David's Crabs and I saw a man named Hiyah urinate from the front porch of the rooming house. The police seem powerless to do anything about this. I hope after seeing these comments, people in Savannah will see the wisdom in not allowing Sunday alcohol sales.
