sick as hell

Have had diarrhea for 4 days (off/on) but woke up with a headache this am. kept getting worse then nausea hit, by 8 am I was throwing up and had diarrhea at the same time. Couldn't hold down water kept tossing it up.
at 11 I took a migraine pill. Not sure it was a migraine but tried it anyway. Didn't come up but didn't work.
I've been sleeping off and on. My throat is raw and my anus is too. Damn, nothing like sitting on the toilet while barfing in the trash.
Head still hurts, stomach is empty, feel like I got glass in my throat and splinters in my asshole. Why do I come down with this shit? I use sanitizer all the time, wash my hands, stay the f*ck away from people. I think the government (or some government) is doing this. I think ATM are tainted, and the touch pads at Walmart, CVS etc.
Am I paranoid? I think NOT. The threat is real.

Sunday

 Web Clip
Quote of the Day - Claude Bernard - "It is what we know already that often prevents us from learning."
Well, that's an interesting thought of the day.
I still have a cold. Can't concentrate on my homework. Think I'll go up town today as this is the only nice day we are expecting for a few days. We had almost 2 inches of rain in the last 2 days. It didn't rain much but it was grey, overcast and not too warm. Louise hates going out in the rain. Chip is always ready to go.
Today is supposed to be about 75 degrees. Love it! But, the rain is coming back tomorrow. So let's enjoy the day!

Good bye Rachel's Rat

How lonely the Rat looks. Poor car is no longer Rachel's Rat. I sold it on Craigslist for her. I had over 35 responses to the ad in just a couple of hours.  Even with a blown head gasket, I still got her $600. She paid Bill back part of the money for the newer car. That's a good start.
Now I have to think up a new nickname for her new car. Let's hope that she takes better care of this one.

February 22 Washington's Birthday

This is Washington's birthday, as well as my brother John.
Last night, as we were cleaning up from dinner, I looked out the back window and saw 2 (Mexican?) men in the yard of the house behind us. Then, 2 black males showed up. I opened the door and stood on the porch so that they would see I was watching them. Then I walked back in the house to finish cleaning off the table. Bill watched them and then said he saw one black guy choking one of the other men. Then they all left the yard. Bill tells me this about 5 minutes after it happened. What the hell? Why didn't Bill open the door and yell or something? Why didn't he call 911 when he saw a man getting choked? I don't know about people.

Rachel's Newer Honda

Ah, new wheels

WTF? Went to the movies and this happened

Nice! Leather
Well, since the Rat was dead, Rachel needed new wheels. She scoured the internet and found this 2003 Honda Accord for $5900. We bought it from a used car dealer but there is still no warranty. I'm not pleased about that.

Rachel and Kristel went to a late movie and of course Rachel drove. Then in the morning, she noticed this scrape on the cover/rear quarter. Damn. People in Savannah are such A-holes.

WOW. that's a depressing thought.
Dang, after a little rain yesterday, it got cooler. Guess it got real cool last night as this is freaking ICE on my windshield at 7:30 in the a.m.

Bad news

My mechanic looked at Rachel's Rat this afternoon and it wasn't good news. Blown head gasket. Yuck. That is expensive. Well GoodBye to the Rat. We will have to get something else for her.
I called into work today. I'm not working until Friday. Wow. This will be a short week for $$ for me... I also checked and my taxes have not been "received" by the IRS. Hmm. I did my own taxes more than a week ago at Liberty. I don't know why the IRS hasn't received them. I sure need the money even though it isn't that much.
Good news is that last Wednesday, I did get my VA money. That was welcome. I asked her yesterday why she chose Georgia State Univ in Atlanta over Georgia Southern in Statesboro. She said she has pretty much been to all the bars in Statesboro. Really? Wow, that is sick. Kid needs a life.

Joe's Crab Shack Savannah and cars

I FOUND IT

A bigger piece of sh*t than the HONDA

Who Knew?
There goes the Honda
Joe's Crab Shack, Savannah

I was downtown Savannah on Saturday for the Author's Book Fair. I tried but could not get in to hear Al Gore. I was bummed. I bought his latest book and started reading it. It is pretty interesting. It was so frigging cold. The temp was about 45 but the wind was whipping around so it felt like 0! Greg Allman was signing his book, and along with several other authors.
Then,  I walked down to River Street. I decided to check out Joe's Crab Shack.
The Shack was interesting. The building doesn't really fit the historic waterfront. It looks like a SCAD building. The staff were all wonderful, attentive, upbeat, and animated. I got a platter of mixed seafood called an East Coast Platter. There was fried whitefish, which was good, stuffed shrimp, which was good- but it was dry, and Maryland crabcake- which I did not like at all. Usually I like crabcake, but this was very peppery tasting. I brought it home and Bill tried it. He didn't much like it either. So, while I liked the place, I still need to go back to try to one of the crab buckets. That is what they famous for, after all.
While walking on Bull Street, I found the one car that is a bigger piece of sh*t than Rachel's Honda. Look at this thing! It is missing the hood, driver's window, driver's mirror, has bungee cords holding the front AND rear bumper covers on and has been hit front, rear, left, and right! WOW! And don't you love the bumper sticker that says Never Settle for less..
This morning, Rachel's Rat was acting up. She put water in the reservoir, then I went out to check on it before she left for work. I added another quart of water and then checked the oil. It was down more than a quart. WTF? So, I had her go to the BP station on 37th and I put a quart in. It sounded a little rough but Rachel left. About 15 minutes later, she called me in a panic. The Rat had the "Maintenance Soon" light flashing and was running rough. Then, it died on Highway 80 on the way to Tybee. Nice. I had to go pick up her and her friend and got them to the Crab Shack. Then I came home, had lunch, and headed back to the Rat. I opened the hood and saw that the top hose was disconnected from the radiator. How bizarre! I tried several times and finally got it to turn over but, it is running Rough. I had it towed to the shop.
Stay tuned to find out what's wrong with the Rat.

Rachel's Future School

State Capital

For days, my feet and back have been killing me. I stand on my feet while assembling tax packages. When I took off my shoes, I discovered that the insides of these shoes had collapsed. What really peeves me is that I bought these shoes only about a month ago!
Yesterday, Rachel and I went to check out Georgia State University. We loved it. I see Rachel having lots more opportunities for a good job by living and going to school in Atlanta. So, she is signed up to start school there in August. This is a big step for Rachel!

RAIN

Look at this gauge! We have had 6 inches of rain in 2 days. Just think, if that was snow, we would have five FEET of snow. How I love Savannah!

Hoodkin'

Little boy is losing his pants
It's a fence!
This dude was shuffling down 35th Street with his stolen shopping cart and nearly lost his pants crossing Montgomery Street.
Well, the big project across the street turned out to be a fence. Note the hump towards the middle. Couldn't make a straight line if someone's life depended on it! Strange part is, the fence is totally open on the other end. Makes NO sense. Just that the hoodkins can now go behind the fence and urinate and do their drug transactions and won't be seen by the camera on the corner.
Malcolm, the owner of David's Crabs next door, was talking to Bill. Said he went to the last neighborhood/police meeting. The businesses across the street from him on Montgomery Street have been able to sign a paper with the city stating that people can be arrested for loitering outside on the sidewalk in front of the businesss without the owner's having to call the police each time. Malcolm was told he could not do that. He would have to call the police every time people were loitering. WTF? Savannah is totally screwed up. Now the A-holes hang out in front of David's Crabs. It is just ludicrous.
Crime is out of control in Savannah. The US Attorney General Eric Holder, stopped by yesterday. He says that the fed needs to help with more police and to outlaw assault weapons. We'll see...

What is happening to Rachel

Rachel called me all angry. She had gone to see her mother at the hotel. Kristel had squeezed her size 16 ass into Rachel's size small yoga pants. Hmmm. Rachel was pissed. Then, she took her to the Parker's gas station/mini-mart. Kristel got a coffee and some cookies. She then spilled the coffee on Rachel's yoga pants and seat and dropped cookies on the floor and ground them into the carpet. Rachel said she yelled at Kristel because SHE is the one who will have to clean up the car. Wow. Like Deja vu, I can remember Rachel spilling drinks in my new Subaru and grinding stuff into my carpets. What goes around comes around...I guess she is growing up some, too.

Watched most of the SuperBowl last night. Not pleased that the Ravens won. Didn't like the half time show. The show was a little too T & A. Something that teenage boys would thoroughly enjoy. The blackout was an interesting touch. SF almost came back to win after that. Oh well.

Cold Brrrr..

"Only free people can hold their purpose and their honor steady to a common end, and prefer the interests of mankind to any narrow interest of their own."
-- Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States
It has been cold here. Yesterday morning, the birdbath was frozen!
