Thursday June 30 2011

The car. What can I say. I called Rachel last night around 7PM and told her to come home since a big storm was getting ready to drop a ton of rain and high winds were expected. She got nearly home when the rain started. Guess what happened next? The frigging windshield wipers didn't work! What the hell? They only come on when she pulls back on the "mist" function.
I did a lot of research online and it seems this is something that happens in these older Honda's. We brought the car to my mechanic and he checked it out. Indeed it will need what's known as a combination switch. But that means turning off the air bag and the steering wheel.  My mechanic will take care of it when the switch comes in. Until then, we put Rain-X on the windshield and she will still need to hold the switch to make the wipers work.
The rain was something else. We had 3 1/4 inches at my house in just over an hour. Damn that's a lot of rain! My neighbor decided to drive through the "lake" on Jefferson at 31st street. What a mistake! She had to walk home. Her husband had to BAIL water out of the back of the car and I don't know how the hell he got it home. It is all fogged up on the inside. This was a valuable for lesson for Rachel to learn, at someone else's expense.

Rachel's first car
Here it is. Rachel's first car. Last night at 9PM she came home and asked how to turn on the dash lights. I went outside with her and found the little knob to turn the lights on. Too bad it didn't work. She called the former owner and he said, Oh yeah, the dash lights don't work... Nice. Then I noticed the blue light on the dash. I asked and she said What is that for? It was on all the time I drove home. Yikes! Glad I wasn't on the road... I showed her how to turn the high beams down.... Watch out Savannah!

Rachel and her Honda Accord
OK Savannah, Watch out! Rachel got her license last Friday and got an 1998 Honda Accord today. She used her settlement money from the accident we were in to pay for the car (for the most part). While trying to get out of the parking space, she hit the curb. Nice! I suppose it was better than hitting the white Corvette...

Sunday June 26 2011

Well, it has been a bad few days for Savannah. We live on 35th street between Jefferson and Montgomery Streets. On Friday at 1:30 in the afternoon, at N. Baldwin and Montgomery (about 1.25 miles from us) was some kind of possible home invasion or maybe a drug deal gone bad. 3 black men were shot, 2 are dead. One drove himself to the hospital. At 3:30 in the afternoon on Jefferson and 43rd Street (whew, that is close enough to see and hear) a guy was carjacked and SHOT in the shoulder. The scumbag didn't have to shoot the guy. He gave up the rental car which was a brand new Jeep. Then the thief didn't even make it 1/2 mile away. He blew through a stop sign and slammed into a SUV, sending the other driver to the hospital. What happened to the scumbag? Bastard ran away. Unbelievable!  Scuttlebutt in the hood is that the 2 crimes are connected but the police have not said anything of the sort. Who knows?
cans in tree

Isn't this ridiculous? Some A-hole decided to stuff their cans into a small tree on 35th Street. And on 36th Street, cans and bottles were just tossed all around. What is wrong with these people?

Wednesday June 22 2011

Well, it is going to be 100 degrees again today. The heat index is expected to be around 105- 110. Right now it is only 81 degrees (at 9 AM) so there are a few scumbags hanging but by Dirty South. I expect in another hour or so, they will crawl away like the rats they are.
While driving down Jefferson Street this morning at 8 AM, a black bicyclist stopped right in the travel lane and gave the bike to another black guy (likely drug dealers). WTF? He couldn't pull up to the sidewalk or even pull into an alley? There was a car coming the opposite direction so I had to come to a dead stop to keep from hitting the A-Holes. These people are retarded I swear to God.

Tuesday June 21 2011

There isn't much to say today. It is just HOT.
Last night at 6 PM it was still 100 degrees. Today it is expected to be 101 and tomorrow, too. It is too damn hot for the scumbags to hang outside. That may be the only thing this much heat is good for!

Weekend S/S June 18/19 2011

Well, it was a busy weekend. I graduated from South University on Saturday. Yeah! There was about 1400 graduates! I didn't realize that all the people that graduate from South University in all its locations, come to Savannah for their graduation. It was nothing like what I thought it was going to be.
Last night we had a ferocious storm. At 11 PM, thunder and lightning started. Then at 11:30, the rain came down. We got 2 inches of rain in 20 minutes! It was wild.

Here is the front of DS Records. It isn't easy to see, but not only is there no glass, but the plastic is now peeling away! What keeps anyone from entering? There are bars behind the plastic. Such thugs, I guess they are comfortable being in a small room with bars....
While walking the dogs this morning, I ran across this gross thing. People are so disgusting.
Front of Dirty South Records.
Disgusting.

310 w 36th street
Some scumbags were busy last night. The back door at 310 W. 36th Street has had the plywood ripped off and the house is now wide open.

Also, someone dumped a ton of trash in the alley behind Dirty South Records. This really make the neighborhood look like hell. I don't know why someone would drive around with trash in their vehicle and just toss it here. What the hell is wrong with people?

Dirty South Records

This is what's left of Dirty South's windows
This isn't the best view, but look carefully at the front windows of Dirty South Records and you will see...plastic. It looks somewhat concave in appearance. That's because there is no glass in there at all. The glass is in the alley. Someone smashed the windows at DSR and for weeks the windows were held together with duct tape and plastic. The other day, all the glass was removed and now it is just plastic sheathing and duct tape. Guess there isn't anything worth stealing in this place.

Monday June 13 2011

Well, it has been a HOT day. At 11 AM it was in the mid- 90's. According to the weather on TV, it was 101 at 2 PM. That's the temp not the heat index. The dogs and I were not exactly enjoying the walk at that time. Although there was a 5-10 mph breeze, the ground was just frigging hot! The scumbags weren't hanging out across the street too long with temps like that. See, there is a silver lining!

Tuesday June 7 2011

Lately, Dirty South Records has been setting up this green canopy on the corner of Montgomery and 35th. A few minutes ago there was about a dozen people out there including a dirty mouthed rapper. They were  playing the music very loud. I could hear the music in my house with the doors and windows closed. I did record some video of the little rapper with the dirty mouth. How fitting that he is at Dirty South....

Dirty South Records
Why are the people from Dirty South Records allowed to play loud music and obstruct the sidewalk? When the Girl Scouts of Historic Savannah were selling GS Cookies in front of the Juliette Gordon Low house, there was a big stink about the girls obstructing the sidewalk up in the historic district. Why is Dirty South allowed to obstruct the sidewalk? I see favoritism or maybe payoffs...

Ho Ho Ho!

SCAD trash
HO HO HO! No it isn't Christmas. It's 6:45 AM on Jefferson Street between 35th and 36th and 3 hoes are walking down the street. Yes, it is a school day and in a few minutes kids will be there to get on the bus. These bitches need to GO GO GO.

Well, here is what is left behind when the SCADlings leave. Nothing like GA Tech. They throw trash in the alley and the city won't pick it up. They will fine the landlord. The tough thing is there are trash pickers out there that exacerbate the problem. The pickers go through the trash but then they leave it all over the place. Most of them are looking for cans to sell for a few pennies (probably to buy more beer). But it is such a pain for everyone else because of the way they leave the alleys. And this isn't really an alley. It is a small paved street. It just brings down the whole neighborhood.

Sunday June 5 2011

Sunday and all is quiet.
Ah, I love it! No alcohol sales, no scumbags. Aren't Sundays Great?

Yesterday was SCAD graduation. The little SCAD'lings are ready to fly from the nest and go out into the real world. Downtown was full of SCAD families this morning. Starbucks and Panera Bread were mobbed.

The SCAD'lings are all moving out now. The alleys and streets are full of "stuff." Unbelievable how much stuff they toss out. I've seen couches, beds, mattresses, tables, tons and tons of clothes and some really weird stuff that can only be described as "art?".

Geez, my nephew Matt attends Georgia Tech and when those kids check out of the dorms, the stuff they throw away is nothing like the students here.  Matt picked up several dorm refrigerators, a couple of laptops, and a flat screen TV! Yes, a TV! He and my sister packed the stuff up and put it on Craig's list and made some money.

On a different note, I got a call from my class adviser the other day. I'm the valedictorian of the Medical Assisting Program. WOW! I will certainly add that to my resume. I completed my externship on Friday, Thank God! I couldn't stand to work at that place another day (and especially to not get paid). If I had to work with this one nurse once more, I know I would have bitch slapped her . Whenever I asked her a question, she ignored me. Like I was beneath her, she couldn't speak to me. Well, screw her. The next time I go there with Rachel (who is a patient at that practice), you can bet I will bust that bitch's balls.
